My Every Day Carry 2025
Alright, so I’ve been creating content for a while now, and I think it’s time I showed you what’s part of my EDC. These are the things that enable me to create freely while reducing friction at the same time. So grab a seat, get comfortable, and let’s get started with the heartbeat of my EDC.
Sony A7SIII
Holding the Sony A7SIII in hand
And that is the Sony A7S3. I absolutely love this camera! This alone has reduced so much friction from my creative process. I picked this up in late 2022, and I’ve been using it as my main camera ever since. One of my favorite things about the A7S3 is the autofocus, hands down. It is super accurate and very consistent. Being a solo creator, this makes filming less stressful which allows me to focus more on creating and less on the gear. My next favorite thing is the dial switch. It's so easy to get to my custom settings with it. I can switch from time-lapse to slow motion or any other settings in seconds. It’s very easy to use, and I can customize it anytime I want. I also carry 3 full batteries with me so I can get through a full days shoot easily. I usually don’t end up using all 3 in one session because the A7s3 doesn’t drain the battery that quickly. Look, I can go on and on about this camera, but that’s not what this video is about, so I’ll move on to the next thing.
24 to 70 GM 2 Lens
24 to 70mm G Master 2 Lens
Which is a 24 to 70 GM 2 lens. I know I was raving about the autofocus on the A7s3, but this lens plays a major part in that, too. Believe it or not, this is the only lens I have with this setup. Yes, I know that’s scary, but it helps me capture a variety of shots. From closeups to mid-range and wide shots. It’s a 2.8 aperture lens so I get that nice creamy blurry background at that focal length when I want it. And works really well in lowlight settings. This lens literally gives me everything I need to make my videos. That’s why it’s in the bag, and I’m not pressed to buy another lens.
ND Filters
K&F Concept Nd Filters
Next up, I have ND Filters from K&F Concept. They come in this nice zip pouch with individual pockets for each filter. I have 4 filters: ND 4, ND 8, ND 64, and ND 1000. They did not come with these labels. I added them myself so I can keep track of them easily. Now, if you don’t know what ND filters are, they’re basically sunglasses for your lens, or like tint for your car. It basically limits the amount of light that gets into the camera. Which stops your image from being over exposed. I use ND 4 and 8 a lot, but the other two not so much. I think there was only one time when I had to jump up to ND 1000. So I guess it's not a complete waste. Honestly, I don’t know why there’s such a huge gap between the filters in the pack but it is what it is I guess.
Hollyland Lark M2s
Lark M2s
The A7s3 shoots really crisp videos, but a crispy image is worthless without good audio. So my choice for audio is the Hollyland Lark M2s. Shoutout to my younger sister for getting these for me as a birthday gift. Between you and me, I may have given her the extra nudge she needed to follow through. (Show me making phone calls, reminding my sister a couple of times to get the Lark m2s for me). Yeah… I got the creator combo that comes with two mics and a receiver for my camera and one for my phone. I wanted something small, easy to use, and with a quick setup process. And these check all of the boxes. Whether I’m filming a talking head or running drills outside. These babies got the job done. And as a bonus, I found out that the receiver for the phone also works with the Osmo Pocket 3.
DJI Osmo Pocket 3
DJI Osmo Pocket 3
Which is also a part of my everyday carry. I have it in the case that comes with the creators combo, along with all its accessories. It works really well as a run n gun camera for when I want to film something quick or don’t feel comfortable pulling out the A7S3. Other than that, I use it as a behind-the-scenes camera or a second camera for my videos. And I also have these ND Filters for the OP3 for when I want to dial in the setting a bit more.
SmallRig Magic Arm
SmallRig Magic Arm
Next, I have a smallRig Magic Arm. I have two of these, but I like to have one of them in my bag at all times. It’s super compact and easy to use. It helps me get a lot of my creative shots. I can literally position my camera anywhere as long as it has a good grip. There’s definitely been some scary moments, but I haven’t had a drop yet. I also use it to hold my monitor or my small MC light on occasion.
Sony Wireless Commander
Bluetooth Remote
Something else I use on occasion is this bluetooth remote that I’m actually using now to controls the camera. I like using this for shots that require me to be further away from the camera or when it’s out of arm’s reach. It has a 200 ft range. So I have a lot of room to play with, and it controls both video and photo modes on my camera. I made a video about it a while ago, testing the range and other features. I’ll link it below if you want to check it out.
DJI RS 4 Mini Gimbal
Setting Up RS4 Gimbal
And the new addition to my EDC is the RS4 mini. I’ve always wanted a gimbal to expand my creativity and open up the doors to new opportunities. And I tried using the ronin SC2 a while back when I had the canon m50 as my main camera, but that was short lived after I upgraded to the A7s3. It couldn’t handle the weight of my camera setup, so it had to go. I gave up on gimbals for a while until the rs4 mini caught my eye. I’ve filmed a couple of projects with i,t and everything about this gimbal is easy. The setup is easy. Balancing it is easy; switching from horizontal to vertical filming is easy. The tracking module is amazing and easy to use. All of this reduces the friction while allowing me to be more creative.
Backback
Kopack backpack
And the backpack that I am using to carry all of this is the [name of backpack]. It’s not a proper camera bag by any means. I actually got this as my travel bag for when I went to Dubai a while back. I haven’t done that much traveling since then, but I found another use for it. It has a laptop slot to carry my M1 MacBook Pro. Another slot for an iPad. This zip pouch at the top for accessories. A couple of pockets down here and a couple of pockets on the sides to carry extra accessories and whatnot. It has a dedicated slot for a battery bank to charge your devices. And an included cover for your bag in case you get caught in the rain. Pretty much had all my bases covered for travel. out to film.
New Camera Bag
Tamrac Turbo CyberPro
Alright, so here’s the new bag. Now, before we get started, I want you to know that I had no intentions of getting another bag. At least not right now. I was really just window shopping online to see what’s out there, that’s all. But then I went to a thrift store with my friend and saw this. This is the Tamrac Turbo CyberPro. When I first saw it, I thought it was just a normal laptop bag. After a second look, I realize it was more than that. Turns out it is also a proper camera bag.
There are two ways to get to the main compartment of this bag. The first way is to unbuckle it from this side and pull open the double zip strap at the top. I feel like this is good for quick access. The second way is to unbuckle the other two straps and flip the top open. You have access to the main area of the bag plus more. That’s everything that I carry whenever I’m going
